Shouz Staff Profiles - Meet Jane

This music teacher extraordinaire and ray of sunshine in human form is adored by children everywhere (including Shouz’s very own Grace and James). When not helping customers pick out their perfect pair of sneakers at one of our stores, Jane also teaches Early Childhood Music classes, which Grace and James attend regularly. There’s nobody more honest than children, so you know that if somebody’s won their affection it must be very well deserved. We’re lucky to have this lovely, talented lady on our team.

Where did you grow up?

-Adelaide

Style icon?

-I don’t really have one, but I always love to see what Kate Middleton is wearing and how effortlessly she walks in heels.

Favourite food?

-I like so many different foods, but if I had to choose, I think it would be chocolate- that’s the one I would find it hard to go without.

Favourite colour?

-At the moment I like neutrals and black and white.

Give us a funny, interesting, quirky fact about yourself:

-As well as working at Shouz, I also teach Early Childhood Music classes (Little Grace and James Rieger, Kate’s children and Annette’s grandchildren, are her students)

-I don’t drink coffee, but I love tea, and I have never booked a plane ticket! (that's 2 but we loved her answers)

Working at Shouz since:

-May 2022

What do you enjoy most about working here?

-Firstly, I LOVE SHOES!….. and I also love helping people. I get so excited when someone buys the same shoes that I’m wearing, and it makes my day when customers pop in to tell me how much they love their new shoes.

Favourite shoe trend of the season and how can people shop it at Shouz?

-SNEAKERS!!! Dressed up or down, they go with just about anything. My all-time favourite would have to be Bump by Django & Juliette – I would put them on every foot that walks through the door…just watch me try!

Favourite Shouz brand and why?

-I’ve always loved Django & Juliette and Top End for comfort and style.

Current favourite style we stock and why?

It was love at first sight when the Torayne was unboxed! The striped laces, the cork detail, the side zip, the buttery soft leather, and when my foot reached the heavenly inner sole, I knew it was meant to be! They keep me comfortable all day at Shouz and I love styling them with leather look pants.

For a dressier sneaker, I am loving the Layyah by Top End, and style them with wide-leg linen pants or a long, gathered skirt.
